The Fortnite craze seems to have exploded exponentially over the first half of 2018, almost like it fell out of a huge party bus in the sky!..
The free-to-play game has taken the world by storm especially amongst youngsters with a vast amount of school children, both male and female switching to the cartoonised, survival based shoot-em up over traditional video games.
So what is Fortnite?
Fortnite itself is a game which retails at £49.99, however if your child is playing Fortnite, they are probably playing the free multiplayer version called Fortnite Battle Royal.
In this version up to 100 players battle it out in a ‘survival of the fittest’ style game trying to avoid being killed by other players, the last person standing wins. Players can build fortresses and craft traps in-game to help get an advantage over other players.
Despite being free, there are in-game purchases which could end up costing a hefty sum, but more on that later.
